Drilling / 钻孔

Application Guide

Classify the hole and the machine setup

Drilling selection starts with finished hole diameter, depth-to-diameter ratio, tolerance, entry and exit conditions, workpiece material, hardness and whether the hole is through or blind. Then confirm spindle interface, available speed and power, holder capacity, workholding, coolant delivery and how chips can leave the hole.

Select the appropriate drilling family

The GUANZHONG catalogue includes Morse-taper twist drills, straight-shank and reduced-shank drills, parabolic-flute deep-hole drills, gun drills, gun reamers, ejector drills and hardmetal drill families. General twist drills cover a broad range of holemaking. Parabolic flutes can support chip evacuation in deeper holes when the setup and cutting conditions are suitable. Gun-drilling and ejector systems require the correct machine, guide, coolant and filtration arrangement.

Prevent avoidable drilling failures

  • Confirm runout, point condition and tool projection before the trial.
  • Use the exact model data to set a conservative starting speed, feed and peck or coolant strategy.
  • Watch chip shape, evacuation, spindle load, sound and temperature.
  • Inspect diameter, straightness, entry, exit and surface at defined intervals.

Do not scale cutting data from a different diameter or material without review. Send the hole specification, material, machine, coolant system, current tool and failure evidence so the model range can be narrowed safely.
