Inspection creates value when the result reaches the people who can act on it. A useful quality workflow connects the drawing characteristic, measurement method, part identity, machine or operation, and disposition decision.
Make the data comparable
- Use a controlled measurement plan and confirmed datum strategy.
- Record context such as cavity, fixture, machine, tool, batch, and operator where relevant.
- Separate measurement-system variation from actual process variation.
Close the loop
Dashboards and statistical views should highlight emerging drift, not just completed defects. Define who reviews each signal, what action threshold applies, and how the decision is recorded for traceability.
Begin with one critical family of parts, validate the workflow with operators and quality engineers, then expand the model after the response process is proven.
